This policy explains how MICHU Pet Supplies Pty Ltd collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit, shop or communicate with us.

1 · Information we collect

- Contact and identity details such as name, email, phone number and delivery or billing address.
- Order, payment-status, transaction, return and customer-service information.
- Account, loyalty, subscription, preference and marketing-consent information.
- Messages, reviews, survey responses, competition entries and other content you submit.
- Device, browser, IP address, cookie, website-usage and approximate location information generated when you use the site.
Payment card processing is handled through payment providers. MICHU does not necessarily receive or store complete card details.

Maintain security, prevent fraud, forecast demand, understand site performance and improve products and customer experience.

Send transactional messages and, where permitted, marketing, product news, offers or reminders.

Comply with law, taxation, accounting, dispute-resolution and regulatory requirements.
3 · Consent and marketing
When you provide information to complete a transaction, delivery, return or support request, we use it for those purposes. Where consent is required for a secondary purpose such as marketing, we request it or provide a choice.
You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing message or contact us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary order, account, security or service communications.
4 · Shopify and service providers
Our online store is hosted by Shopify. We may share information with providers that help us operate ecommerce, payments, fraud prevention, delivery, warehousing, customer support, analytics, advertising, communications and professional services. These providers may process information only as required to provide their services or as described in their own privacy terms.
5 · Disclosure and overseas processing
We may disclose information to service providers, related businesses, advisers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where authorised or required by law. Some providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in jurisdictions where our ecommerce, technology, logistics or support providers operate.
If MICHU is reorganised, sold or merged, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.
6 · Cookies and analytics
Cookies and similar technologies help keep the cart working, remember preferences, measure site performance, improve security and support advertising or analytics. The cookies used may include essential storefront, session, cart, analytics and preference cookies provided by Shopify and other approved services.
You can adjust browser or available consent settings, but disabling essential cookies may affect site functions. Third-party links and services are governed by their own privacy policies.
7 · Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure.
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including order support, legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute requirements, then delete or de-identify it where appropriate.
8 · Access, correction and complaints
You may contact us to request access to or correction of personal information we hold, withdraw consent where applicable, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse or limit a request where permitted by law.
We will review privacy complaints and respond within a reasonable period. If you remain dissatisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where applicable.
9 · Minors and policy changes
The site is intended for customers who can lawfully enter transactions or use it with appropriate parent or guardian involvement. We may update this policy from time to time. The current version takes effect when posted on this page.
