I’m not one to bother complaining online but please read the returns policy fine print and note the size. I failed to notice quite how big it is which is too big for an apartment. My fault. It’s nice. But to send it back I’ll have to pay for postage which I’ve been told will be about $70. Possibly more. Then they will deduct the postage fee to have sent it me in the first place. It has to get there (interstate) within 14 days. It has to be unused (which it is). I know they are a small Australian outfit but this is more trouble than it’s worth for the less than half return which is not even definite. There’s another coda - it had about a $15 discount in the first place (which it appears to always have) and advertises as sale, and the fine print says sale stuff can’t be returned. I know this sounds ridiculously nit-picking, but just be aware it’s big (for an apartment anyway) and returns procedures are complicated and expensive. From $169, deduct $85 at least.

Purchased this from another retailer. It is attractive and stops a lot of litter being trailed out. Unfortunately the drawer design is not fully enclosed and it leaks if your cat sprays the walls.

Be aware that this litter box does not work if your cat is a vertical pee-er. I wish I had known that before investing so much money on this litter box. The pee runs down the sides and turns the floor under it into pee lake. Other enclosed litter trays I have used have not had the same problem, when I addressed it with the company they said it was unfair to blame the box. I am sure this box works for many cats but it will not work if your cat vertical pees. The solution offered did not fix the problem so both the litter tray and the money is going into the bin.

Okay when I first opened the packaging I was surprised at how big this liter box is! I have a large cat so I’m used to a large box but it’s huge (in a good way). It’s also good quality for the price!! I love how the lid has a front opening latch for easier quick clean. Haven’t had it long enough to determine if it helps with odor but already a good purchase and would recommend.

Terrible design and can't use as intended. Due to there not being a bottom of the main unit the tray just slides on the floor.
Urine can go over the edge of the tray and run all over the floor if the cat urinates high. The cat doesnt have this issue when i leave the tray out on it's own.
There isn't much room inside for the cat. Such a waste of money. I'm left with a very expensive basic litter tray.

Ive previously posted saying how much i love this litter box however I wish it had seive option so I wanted to update mu review for those also interested that I used the seive section from the Kmart Cat Litter Tray High Sides which fits PERFECTLY. I use it with catmate litter and now I have the perfect set up! ❤

Overall I love this litter box.
It looks really modern and doesn't look like a litter box which is my favourite part.
I have used a few different litters in this box and found that any clay or fine/smaller particle litter would still easily track throughout the house. A lot of litter also escapes down the edges when the cats kick around inside so it gets a little messy. I've seen comments about urine leaking from over the edges and if your cat wee's quite high, I can definitely see that being an issue and I'd look for something else.
I have since moved to pellet litter which ticks all the boxes for me and it seems to all stay in the box which is great. I just REALLY wish this litter box came with a sieve insert option for pellet litter. It's a bit annoying to clean now, I've been trying to find other sieve style boxes that would fit inside this one in order to have the best of both worlds but unfortunately am yet to find one. My cats love the scratching pad option on top. They often flick the cushion off in order to access it. Love the scoop too. PLEASE MAKE A SIEVE INSERT

The drawer is very heavy once full of littler, but this at least gives my cats some privacy when they do their business. I wish I didn’t have to bend down so far to change it, but this could potentially be fixed with an added staircase base made out of the same material.

Visually this looks really great and I love that it can be styled like a side table so it doesn't look so much like a litter box. I love the scoop and overall I think the quality is pretty good. Unfortunately it did nothing to control litter tracking on the paws of my cats feet so if you're current litter tracks, don't expect any real change as a result of this litter box. My only other issue is that it doesn't seem to sit together too well which results in litter being kicked over the edge and underneath and around the litter box. I also read multiple reviews about this issue but with urine! Thankfully my cats don't seem to wee high like others have mentioned.
To summarise, I would recommend if you can justify the price.
Yes it is expensive and no it isn't perfect but it seems to do just a good of a job as any I've found so far but this one actually looks good! So it's a winner in my eyes for that alone!

I was incredibly excited to finally get a cute toilet for my cat. Unfortunately it’s just not for her. She’s always been over enthusiastic about covering, and I hoped the design would prevent her from kicking the litter everywhere, but it all just gets stuck at the back which makes cleaning difficult. The entrance causes there to be less room inside. My cat ended up stepping in her poop and tracking it through the house - this has never happened before. I also noticed that smells get trapped inside. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement considering all the positive reviews plus the cost of it.

I really had high hopes for this litter box. It looks great and I absolutely love the drawer that is pulled out to put the kitty litter into it.
Let me say that it does work well - but only for cats that sit and pee, which worked great for my first cat. The second cat pees standing and normally pees against the wall of the tray.
It looked like a nice, deep enough tray, but the problem is, the side of the tray slopes inward and it doesn't line up well with each other; leaving a small crack between the outer lid and the tray/drawer underneath.
This is enough for the pee to go through the crack, no matter how tightly I put the pieces together, the pee goes straight out and onto the floor.
It's a shame because it looks great and my cats actually love it! The Little grate when they walk out is great.
It would be great if this could be mentioned in the description of the product. The other kitty litter tray, the house one, says it isn't good for cats that pee standing up, so I don't understand why this one didn't state that, because if I had known, I would not have bought it!
Lastly the two design choices, even if a third product could be made with these, would be:
1) A higher lid/ceiling height inside. I did find the great cat, while after was ok using it, she must like her open spaces more, as she was a little put off at how small the opening was, and how small the lid height was. The second cat was perfectly fine with this.
2) A higher tray/drawer, with a sort of lip or maybe just a deeper tray, so that even with a bit of kitty litter in it, the draw walls are high enough that the cats can pee against the wall and not have it go out the side of the wall!
This would be a good send.
Even if we could have a deeper tray and style for the house design because that looked super cute and great! But again for those of us that have weird cats that for some reason don't like sitting, and have developed the preference to pee on the side of the tray, then it just won't work for those type of cats!
I wish I could get my money back on this as it's a definite flaw in the product. And if you have cats that pee standing, please don't get this one. It just isn't worth the mess or hassle!

First off, I'm giving it 3 stars because it doesn't work well for me, it may work better for you and your cats. It is a high quality and sturdy item and the extra add on is fantastic. My cat uses the scratcher and likes to sleep in it. Personally, I would have gotten the House litter box had I known my cat kicks up a lot of litter, it was my first adopted cat so I took the risk.
I have a medium-large male cat so when he 'buries' his litter, the litter ends up outside and at the back of the litter tray. When you push in the tray, there's still a gap at the back which litter can still go through. I would say this is the only flaw of the litter tray but it's super frustrating as I'm having to sweep up this mess each time I clean which could have been avoided with the other House litter style. It's also very expensive and pricier so not ideal for what I paid. No issues with pee going on the ground, it's just the litter pellets.

Cute design. Kitten and bigger cats took to it immediately. (Cats range from 2-6kg and fit decently.) Cats like the scratching board on top and will occasionally sleep on it. They all use catnip cardboard scratchers so it was not a new concept to them. The biggest issue I had with this litterbox is the drawer. It does not go back easily and if not perfectly aligned, litter will get kicked under the litter box during use. Litter still gets tracked but its less over some other litterbox designs. Probably would have been more successful design if the top could be removed for cleaning rather than having a drawer. Id still recommend because the cats like it.

In my experience this item is probably the best for keeping kitty litter contained. Easy to remove tray. It’s pretty big however it reduces the kitty litter tracking down dramatically.

We have a cat that has always stood up as she wees, so we needed a litter tray that didn't result in her peeing on the floor. The design of this is great for that reason, but would be even better if the inside was all moulded into the outer shell because her pee does still run down behind the screwed on lip and goes onto the floor. We have tried putting silicone around the lip so that her wee goes straight into the litter tray instead, but that does degrade over time. If this was changed it would be absolutely perfect!

We bought this thinking that it would keep the litter out of sight. It looks great, but as soon as my cat kicks litter up against the back wall of it - it comes out the back/onto the ground behind the litter tray. Dissapointing honestly, just defeats the purpose of an enclosed litter box

Fantastic litter box. Good size, looks right at home in our bathroom, and the litter tracking has virtually stopped. Only a few stray pellets can escape due to the clever grated entry. The draw makes life super easy and I haven’t found any litter shifting over the edge. We use the top separately in our living room and our cat loves scratching and sleeping in here, not so fussed on the cushion but we got it free with the pre-order promo so no loss there. The litter box looks lovely but the inside is way smaller than you’d imagine since the entrance cuts off almost half of the useable litter space for my kitty. Every time he tried to use it he was always squished and cramped inside and started to go to the toilet in other places in our home because he didn’t like it that much. Keep that in mind if you want to purchase this item.
